Our volunteers help make Gathering Currents programs, events, and community initiatives possible. Whether you have a few hours to give at an event or want to take on a more ongoing role, we welcome people with different skills, experiences, and interests.

Our internship program provides youth and college students with hands-on experience in nonprofit and community-based work. Interns contribute to real projects while developing skills in areas such as outreach, communications, education, research, program development, evaluation, and community engagement.
We typically host a small cohort of college interns and youth during the summer and 1-3 students during the academic year. Opportunities may be completed for academic credit, volunteer hours, and some positions may be supported through grant-funded opportunities.

Training Active Bystanders grows through people who bring the skills into their own communities. Our Training for Trainers (T4T) program prepares participants to facilitate TAB workshops and help others develop the skills to recognize harm, overcome barriers to intervention, and take meaningful action.
Becoming a trainer isn't just about learning a curriculum. It's about joining a network of people committed to creating safer, more inclusive communities and carrying active bystandership into the places where they live, work, learn, and gather.
You don't need to be a professional facilitator or conflict specialist. Our 9-hour T4T provides the training, practice, and support needed to build confidence as a TAB facilitator over three 3-hour days.
It includes:

A run-through of the 2.5-hour foundational TAB, taught by instructors with training tips

Conversations about bringing TAB to your community

TAB Trainer certification
We offer T4Ts periodically. If you're interested in becoming a trainer, join our waitlist and we'll contact you when registration opens or new training opportunities become available.
